Narcotics Officer Kathleen
C. Schaefer, working undercover, was participating in a buy / bust
operation in the 2400 block of West Bay Area Blvd. Due to a lack of
 communication,
a uniformed H.P.D. officer mistook her for an armed suspect who was
threatening another undercover officer. Officer Shaeffer was shot
one time and died at the scene. |
