Officer Michael P. Roman was in the 3800 block of N. Main, en-route to a pursuit, when a motorist entered the intersection of 38th Street and N. Main. The impact of the motorist’s vehicle struck the right front of his patrol vehicle causing Officer Roman’s vehicle to flip over and slide into a light pole. Officer Roman died at the scene as a result of head and chest injuries. The motorist was ticketed for Failure to Yield Right of Way to an Emergency Vehicle.
