Officer George G. Rojas attended a party at The Latin World Club in the 7000 block of Harrisburg. A fight broke out in the club and Officer Rojas, identifying himself as a police officer, attempted to break up the fight. One of the suspects slashed the officer's neck with a hook knife. He died approximately five hours later at Ben Taub Hospital.
