Deputy Odell McDuffie, 43, died in the line of duty on Monday afternoon, October 25, 2010, after his patrol car left the highway, hit a tree and then caught fire.  Rescue attempts were not successful and the Deputy died at the scene. 

Deputy McDuffie had been a Deputy with the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office for seventeen years. He is survived by his wife, Emily and three children.
