County Sheriff's Deputy Dirk Knearem, 40, was killed in the line
of duty after being involved in an automobile accident, on TX 73
and Highway 124, in Chambers County at 8pm on October 17, 2004.
Deputy Knearem had been a Texas Peace Officer for 18 years and had
been a Deputy in Chambers County since 2002. Deputy Knearem was
the very first Chambers County Sheriff's Deputy ever, to be killed
in the line of duty.
