Houston Police Officer Gary Gryder, was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, June 29, 2008 when a car slammed into a marked police car and hit him while he was on duty and working traffic control in West Houston. Officer Gryder is survived by his wife Debra, a son Austin (13), and a grown step-daughter Jennifer.
