Officer Keith A. Dees
was a Solo Motorcycle Officer assigned to the Accident
Division. Before heading home at the end of his shift, he was told
to make a final check for disabled vehicles on his way out of town.
Unfortunately, a vehicle had stalled in a moving lane of traffic on
Interstate 45, outbound. With his vision obscured by a vehicle traveling
in front of him, Officer Dees was unable to stop his police motorcycle
before colliding into the rear of the stalled car. He was taken to
Memorial Herman Hospital, but doctors were unable to save his life.
Officer Dees was 30 minutes from home with plans to take his family
on vacation. He was a nineteen (19) year veteran of the police department.
Officer Dees is survived by his wife, Deborah, sons Derek (12) and
Trenton (8), and a twenty-one month old daughter, Grace. |
