Houston Police Officer Frank Cantu, Jr., 42, was killed in an automobile accident on March 25, 2004. Officer Cantu's marked patrol car was hit by an intoxicated motorists' vehicle after it reportedly ran a traffic light while traveling at a high rate of speed. The single officer was a nineteen (19) year veteran of the Department and was assigned to the Special Operations Division. Officer Cantu's father is a retired Houston Police Officer.
